Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

History, science, and doctors have shown alcoholism and drug addiction are progressive, primary and potentially fatal diseases. Based on the history of addiction treatment, there is no "cure" for addiction. This disease is however, arrestable with ongoing treatment. The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) allows individuals to learn the skills necessary to recover and allows them to integrate these skills into their lives. Our IOP Program is an effective way to continue the duties of daily life and treat this disease.

Our groups are held in the evenings and meet three times per week. Each of these groups lasts three (3) hours, for a total of nine (9) hours per week. Our program aims to give clients what they, as individuals, need to succeed. Due to this fact, the duration of the program varies based on necessity of the client.

Our program includes the following topics:  (just to name a few)

  • Relapse Prevention

  • Stress Management

  • Substance Abuse

  • Addictions

  • 12-Step

  • Depression

  • Anger Management

  • Coping Skills

After completing the IOP level of treatment, clients are typically stepped down to individual weekly one hour sessions. This creates a step-down process, fully supporting the newly recovering individual in their recovery. Individualized therapy in combination with ongoing monitoring is a proven outline for sustained success.  All this work is done in conjunction with an individual’s attendance at outside 12-Step meetings, work with a sponsor and development of a recovery support network. This multi-model approach to treatment is more effective for individuals with co-occurring disorders, histories of relapse and other complications.
